Lieutenant John Baber RNVR One of the HMS Newcastle's crew on the night of 14/15th June 1942. Posted to HMS Newcastle in January 1942, he was one of the three lookouts alongside the ship's open Bridge, and his action station was in the cordite chamber under 'Y' turret. Later he was commissioned in early 1943, and served with Coastal forces, carrying out sweeps in the channel against E-boats and armed trawlers.
